Catering
We cater on site for 3 meals a day, all vegetarian, wholesome food. Much of our produce is grown on our land, and eggs are provided by our own hens.
If you have transport and want to eat off site occasionally, there is a local family run pizzeria approximately 2 km down the road that serves excellent pizzas, pasta and rice dishes. The nearest town is Sestola, approx 6km from Castellaro, which has several very good café/bars and restaurants. Traditional local foods include porcini mushrooms, polenta, chestnuts, crescentine, tigelle, borlenghi, balsamic vinegar and of course pizzas and pasta. Meat eaters enjoy Parma ham and cinghiale (wild boar).
Costs 2012
The costs for full board, exclusive of any separate workshop fees, are as follows:
Sleeping in the house: 40 euros per person per day
Sleeping in a tent: 35 euros per person per day

Location
Castellaro is a small village 6km from Sestola, in the central area of the Apennine mountains. Casa Taddeo is situated in a small 'borgata' (hamlet) on the hillside above Castellaro at a height of 760m, surrounded by woods, farmland and mountain tracks with beautiful views. Several rivers flow through the valleys, and it is possible to swim during the summer. In winter the area is popular for skiing and snowboarding on the slopes of nearby Monte Cimone, and at Abetone. We are at the southern tip of the Emilia-Romagna region bordering Tuscany. The cities of Florence, Bologna, Modena and Pisa are all within easy reach.
